What's on in Kaikoura, North Canterbury, New Zealand

Our area offers numerous opportunities to relax and come "Close to nature". Walk the many wonderful scenic tracks in the area or just stroll along our beautiful beachfront.

Seafest weekend is the first weekend in October.  You will need to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

The following are a few suggestions of some of our popular visitor attractions.

Kaikoura Whale Watch	Giant Sperm Whales are the stars of the show and year round residents.
Kaikoura Albatross Encounter	Experience the sensation of getting close to the mighty albatross, one of the world's largest flight birds.
Kaikoura, Swim with Dolphins	Swimming with or watching the dusky dolphins is something very special.
Quad Biking, Kaikoura	The opportunity to see spectacular views of the rugged Kaikoura coastline and see the seals! Ride your own 4 wheeler bike or enjoy a guided ATV tour in our 8 wheel Argo.
Swim with Seals in kaikoura	A totally unique experience seal swimming with New Zealand Fur Seals in their own spectacular environment on Kaikoura's beautiful coast!
Scuba Diving in Kaikoura	For an experience you won't forget in a hurry, spend some time with the NZ Fur Seals! Get up close and personal with these clowns of the sea!
Seal Sea Kayaking in Kaikoura	Watch Fur Seals dive and manoeuvre around and under your kayak. Paddle with them as they swim around the Peninsula hunting for Octopus.
Fishing Charters in Kaikoura	The waters of the clean, blue Pacific Ocean just off the coast of Kaikoura are bountiful indeed.  Crayfish, (NZ Rock Lobster), Cod, Grouper, and many more species are caught here, and Kaikoura Fishing Charters specialise in guiding groups of 4 - 10 passengers on their vessel "Takapu"
